Current Research

My research focuses on the identification and analysis of natural gestures with touchless interfaces. For this purpose, I’m conducting experiments to observe how people manipulate virtual objects, in particular household appliances in a virtual kitchen. Through the video-analysis of the experimental sessions, the goal is to identify similarities and differences between the gestural patterns emerged in different conditions of vision (2d or 3d screen). The analysis of the experimental results should let us build an alphabet of natural gestures which will be then implemented for the use with touchless devices.
