1 – INTRODUCTION TO THE WORK AND ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY
Current and future scenarios of work psychology. Historical background and organizational theories; from the industrial revolution to the knowledge society; enterprises and globalization processes; novel technologies, work, and welfare; the work evolution in the society; promises and threats of Industry 4.0/5.0.
2 – RESEARCH AND WORK METHODS OF THE PSYCHOLOGIST WITHIN THE ORGANIZATIONS
Psychology research on human activities and social practice in the work. Research methods and techniques for knowledge elicitation and organization: focus group, brainstorming, affinity diagrams, questionnaires, and interviews.
3 – SAFETY AND ERGONOMICS
Psychology contribution to safety at the workplace. Theories on performance and human error in the organizations. Occupational incidents and error types. Error prevention and management. Ergonomics and interaction with working tools. Technological innovation and impact on work. Video analysis and its usage in the study of behaviors at the workplace.
4 – PSYCHOPATHOLOGIES AND WORKPLACE
Abnormal and counterproductive behaviors, stress (including technostress), mobbing, burnout, violence and aggression, workaholism, mental and emotional fatigue, and cognitive load. Methods for measuring mental load and stress as determinants of errors/incidents at work:

5 – CONSUMER PSYCHOLOGY, MARKETING, AND COMMUNICATION
External communication; persuasion and traditional methods of advertising and marketing; web and social network marketing. Neuromarketing. Eye tracking and other innovative methods to study marketing and communication within the organizations.
in TECHNIQUES AND METHODS IN PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE
Students will gain theoretical knowledge about the main research topics investigated by Work and Organizational Psychology. Moreover the current developments related to the introduction and deployment of new technologies in organizations will be treated. Finally, the main methods to conduct research in organizations will be covered.

Students will acquire theoretical and technical knowledge concerning the psychological processes underlying individuals’ behaviours at workplace. Communication and decision-making processes are connected and continuously take place in the working environment. General knowledge will be provided about several types of organisational structures, and the impact of novel technologies on the working processes. Finally, students will learn how to apply the most appropriate methods and techniques for carrying out in-field studies in the organizational context.
in TECHNIQUES AND METHODS IN PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE
The course deals with the main topics of interest in Social Psychlogy. The student will gain knowledge about:
– the main concepts and theoretical frameworks in Social Psychology
– the seminal experiments of the field
S/he will also learn how to critically read and discuss the experimental studies in the field of Social Psychology
in PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE
The course covers the main topics of social psychology and the psychology of communication, modernized by reference to social relations mediated by new technology.
The students will have the opportunity to get familiar with the following:
– the classic, most influential concepts and models in social psychology and communication;
– some recent approaches to mediated communication.
– the pioneer, landmark studies that made the history of these disciplines.
The exercises during the course will help students:
– checking their understanding of the concepts discussed in class;
– connecting different parts of the program and appreciating their similarities and differences.
